SKU Crosswalk privacy notice

See what the extension processes, saves and exports.

Updated 17 October 2026. This notice covers the SKU Crosswalk — Catalogue Mapping extension, version 0.3.3 preview.

Publisher display name: AK Frames.

Data you choose to open

SKU Crosswalk reads the catalogue files and optional earlier audit file you select. Catalogue data can include product codes, titles, pack quantities, dimensions and any other columns in those files. The working review also holds file names and fingerprints, your column selections, matching rules, decisions and review notes. An optional reviewer reference is included when you export it.

This data is processed in the extension on your device to suggest catalogue links, show conflicts, record your review and prepare downloads. Original product codes are retained as text. No account is required.

Storage and downloads

Opening a file does not automatically save a workspace. Current work stays in the open page until you deliberately save it or close the page.

Save workspace → Encrypt and save keeps one encrypted copy in this browser profile, including the imported catalogue text and review. You enter and confirm a long, unique passphrase of at least 12 characters. Spaces, letter case and the exact characters matter; paste from a password manager is allowed. The extension uses native browser cryptography to encrypt that copy with AES-256-GCM and a key derived from the passphrase using PBKDF2-SHA-256 with 600,000 iterations. Each save uses a new random salt and IV. The passphrase and key are not stored, sent to the developer or included in exports. The input fields are cleared when you submit or leave the dialog.

Saving again replaces the one copy only after encryption and checks succeed. Another tab changing the save while the dialog is open stops the replacement and asks you to start again. The extension uses Chrome's local extension storage, not Chrome's sync storage, and does not automatically restore a save when opened. The optional reviewer reference is used for exports and is not included in the saved workspace.

An older, unencrypted save is opened only through an explicit Open older unencrypted save choice. It stays plaintext until a successful encrypted save replaces it, or you delete it. This does not encrypt older backups or copies elsewhere.

Start again asks you to confirm clearing loaded catalogues, review decisions and notes, reviewer reference, aliases, column mappings and matching choices. Only Clear current workspace confirms this; Cancel or Escape keeps the current workspace. Any separately saved copy remains in place.

If requesting Start again cancels an unfinished save or unlock, Cancel does not resume that operation. A submitted storage write must finish before reset is available.

Privacy and data controls → Delete saved workspace removes that saved copy. These actions do not delete your original files or downloaded exports. Removing the installed extension also removes its local extension storage. Keep any exports you need before removal.

Downloads can contain product codes, original file names, row references, review notes and the reviewer reference you entered. CSV exports prefix formula-like values with an apostrophe; the JSON audit retains the original identifier text. Protect these files as you would the catalogues they describe. A review pack is a record of decisions, not a portable copy of the complete workspace.

Connections and permissions

The extension does not upload catalogue or review data to an operator server. It has no analytics, advertising, tracking, payment connection or background website access. It does not read browsing history or change a shop, marketplace or inventory system. Its only requested extension permission is storage, used for the optional saved workspace.

AK Frames limits this extension's use of imported catalogue data and review information to the disclosed catalogue review, optional saving and export features you choose. The extension does not sell that data, use it for advertising, transfer it to data brokers or provide the developer with background access to read it.

SKU Crosswalk's use and transfer of user data comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy's Limited Use requirements.

Passphrases and readable data

There is no developer recovery key. A forgotten passphrase cannot be recovered, and a review ZIP or audit JSON cannot restore the complete workspace. Keep your passphrase and original catalogue files separately. The encrypted saved copy has an 8 MB limit; large imports may not fit. Storage errors can still prevent a save.

Encryption applies to the optional saved copy. The open workspace and downloaded CSV, ZIP and JSON files remain readable. Someone with access to your open page, device or downloads may be able to read that information. Use an appropriate device and browser profile for confidential business data. Include only the columns you need, and keep passwords, access tokens and unrelated personal information out of imported files and notes.

This notice describes the extension. Chrome, the Chrome Web Store, any website hosting these pages, and services you choose to send files to have their own data practices.

Support and privacy questions

Contact AK Frames at akframesltd@gmail.com for product or privacy questions. Email is optional and separate from the extension's local processing. If you choose to send a message, your sender details, message and any attachments are provided to AK Frames and the email providers that handle delivery and storage.

Send the minimum information needed, preferably a small fictional reproduction. Never send a passphrase, credentials, private catalogue, full business audit or unrelated personal information. Clearing a workspace or deleting a local save does not delete an email or attachments you chose to send. The website and support privacy notice explains this separate website/email handling.
