A file will not open
Export it as UTF-8 text and choose Delimiter for next file before opening it. The file-type default uses tabs for .tsv and commas otherwise; choose Semicolon, Pipe, Tab or Comma explicitly when needed. Excel .xlsx files need exporting first. Check for a header row, unique non-empty headers, consistent field counts and correctly quoted delimiters or line breaks. Each file is limited to 50,000 data rows and 20 MB.
Changing the delimiter choice does not reinterpret an already loaded file. Choose the file again after changing it. The loaded file's applied delimiter appears with its file details. A failed replacement leaves the earlier loaded catalogue and column selections in place.
A mapping is blocked or missing
Check the selected columns and default dimension units. Supplied pack or dimension differences block approval. A missing or unrecognised value needs your own check and acknowledgement; it is not treated as a match.
Duplicate or normalised codes can create several candidates. Inspect the exact original codes and product information, or search for another target. A missing title or an unequal title may mean no automatic candidate is available. Leave a row unresolved when the evidence is insufficient.
If another approval already owns the target code, check the one-to-one policy. Choose the multiple-alias policy only when it fits your task, and record the required reason. A single exact source code still cannot point to different targets.
Too many candidates
Very broad matching rules or repeated catalogue rows can produce more candidate pairs than this preview retains. Use stricter rules, remove unintended duplicate records in a separate copy, or split the job. The tool stops the comparison rather than silently approving or treating truncated candidates as unique.
Saving, restoring and recovering
There is one saved workspace per browser profile. New saves require a long, unique passphrase of at least 12 characters, confirmed when saving. Spaces and letter case matter. Paste from a password manager is allowed. The saved copy is encrypted; CSV, ZIP and JSON downloads remain readable. The passphrase and key are not stored or included in exports.
There is no passphrase recovery service or developer recovery key. If you forget the phrase, keep the saved copy if you may remember it later, or explicitly replace or delete it. You can start a new review from the original catalogues and use an earlier audit for fresh alias suggestions. A review ZIP or audit JSON alone cannot recreate the complete workspace.
The encrypted saved copy has an 8 MB limit; large imports may not fit. Browser storage errors can also prevent saving. A failed save is reported and keeps the previous saved copy; do not assume work is backed up. Keep the original catalogues and download the review outputs before closing the page.
An unlock error can mean an incorrect passphrase or a changed saved copy. Check the exact phrase; the tool does not trim spaces or normalise characters. Failed unlocking or validation leaves current work and the save in place. Restore requires a compatible workspace and matching catalogue fingerprints. It opens the captured copy shown by that dialog, which may be older than a save subsequently made in another tab.
An older unencrypted save requires an explicit Open older unencrypted save choice and remains plaintext until a successful Encrypt and save replaces it, or you delete it. Existing backups are not retroactively encrypted. An incompatible save is not silently converted into approved mappings; load the original catalogues to start a fresh review if needed.
If another tab changed the save, close the dialog and start the action again. Native browser Web Locks are required for Save and Delete to prevent conflicting writes. If these controls report that Web Locks or WebCrypto are unavailable, use a supported Chrome environment; current work and exports remain usable. Cancel is available before a storage write, but a submitted write must finish before its result is known.
Start again asks Clear current workspace? before clearing loaded catalogues, review decisions and notes, reviewer reference, aliases, column mappings and matching choices. Save or download first if needed. Choose Cancel or press Escape to keep current work, or choose Clear current workspace to clear it. Any separately saved copy stays available under Restore.
Requesting Start again may cancel an unfinished Save workspace or Restore operation. Cancel keeps the current workspace and does not change any saved copy, but does not resume that cancelled operation; start it again if needed. A submitted storage write blocks reset until it finishes.
Start again and Delete saved workspace affect different copies. Resetting or successfully replacing the workspace clears the optional reviewer reference; failed or cancelled replacement keeps it with the current work. The reviewer reference is not included in saved workspaces. Neither action removes your original files or downloads. Unsaved work is lost when its page is closed or reloaded.
Preparing an issue report
A useful report includes the extension and Chrome versions, the exact error, the action that triggered it, file sizes and row counts, and a small fictional CSV that reproduces the issue. State which columns and rules were selected. Crop screenshots to remove private information. Do not send a passphrase, full catalogue, business audit, credentials or customer records merely to demonstrate a problem.
The preview has no account, licence activation, checkout or subscription to restore.
Contact AK Frames
SKU Crosswalk is published under the display name AK Frames. For product or privacy questions, email akframesltd@gmail.com.
Sending email is your choice. Your sender details, message and any attachments go to AK Frames and the email providers that handle delivery and storage. A small fictional reproduction and the exact error are usually more useful than a private business file. Never send your passphrase, credentials, private catalogue, full audit or unrelated personal information. The extension does not automatically attach or send your data; the website and support privacy notice describes this separate email handling.
